1) Aiguille du Midi Cable Car (3842m)
From the center of Chamonix, the Aiguille du Midi cable car takes you to 3842 meters in just 20 minutes. The journey consists of two stages: the first to Plan de l'Aiguille (2300m), and the second over the Glacier des Pèlerins and the north face of the Aiguille. From the summit, the view of the Alps is breathtaking, with several terraces offering exceptional panoramas. An elevator provides access to the upper terrace at 3842 meters, the closest point to Mont Blanc accessible without effort. Plan de l'Aiguille is ideal for off-piste skiing in winter and hiking in summer.
2) Step into the Void : "Le Pas dans le vide"
The Step into the Void is a tourist attraction located on the upper terrace of the Aiguille du Midi. This fully glass-enclosed room offers a thrilling view with a 1000-meter drop beneath your feet, providing stunning views of the highest peaks in the Western Alps and the Bossons Glacier.
3) Mer de Glace, Montenvers Train, Ice Cave, and Panoramic Restaurant
The Mer de Glace is France's largest glacier (7 km long, 200 m thick). Accessible via the Montenvers Train from the center of Chamonix, this site offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. The Montenvers station also houses a café, a restaurant, a museum of Alpine fauna, and an exhibition of mountain crystals. In summer, beautiful hikes are possible from Plan de l'Aiguille.
4) Le Brévent in Chamonix
Le Brévent offers one of the best views of Mont Blanc. From Chamonix, take the cable car to Plan Praz (1999m), then the gondola to Brévent (2525m). Plan Praz is the starting point for numerous hikes and has a paragliding launch area. At the summit of Brévent, enjoy sunny terraces and restaurants with panoramic views of Mont Blanc.
